Conclusions

In this paper we presented the results of visualization of a DT-MRI dataset of a canine heart using several visualization techniques: scalar field rendering, tensor glyph and fiber reconstruction methods. Our results clearly show the 3D spiraling diagonal orientation of the muscle fibers on the heart and systematic smooth variation in pitch and direction of the fibers from endocardium to epicardium.
