David Breen

is currently a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Advanced Computing Research at the California Institute of Technology. He was previously the Assistant Director of Caltech's Computer Graphics Laboratory. He has held research positions at the European Computer-Industry Research Centre, the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics, and the Rensselaer Design Research Center (formerly the RPI Center for Interactive Computer Graphics). His research interests include level-set models for graphics, volume graphics and segmentation, large data visualization, and geometric modeling. He is a member of ACM SIGGRAPH, the IEEE Computer Society and Eurographics. He is the co-editor of the recently published book Cloth Modeling and Animation (AK Peters). Breen received a BA degree in Physics from Colgate University in 1982. He received MS and PhD degrees in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1985 and 1993.
