Alan H. Barr

is a Professor of Computer Science at the California Institute of Technology. He received his PhD in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His research interests are in generic methods for mathematical modeling, rendering, behavioral simulation and scientific visualization, so that reconfigurable models can have great predictive power in the physical sciences. In 1988 he received that ACM SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award, for research contribution to the field of computer graphics. In 1995 he was Inducted as a Fellow of the ACM.
